Judy King

Judy came to take an interest in the process of writing in her late forties, dallying for a brief time in what the Irish writer, Edna O´Brien, called: ¨the little words¨. In the late nineteen eighties Edna, by chance, came to live in an apartment in Judy´s house in Deia Mallorca. They developed a friendship and Judy ended up working for the author as a researcher on a book she wrote while living there, called The High Road. Sadly, Edna passed away aged 93 on the 27th July 2024. Her defiance in challenging the bigotry, particularly against women, in her native Ireland, and her courage in bravely facing the world alone, will forever remain an inspiration for me. She told me all those years ago. "God has given me a great talent and the will to drive it forward."
